Greetings and blessings. We miss you all and hope

Greetings and blessings. We miss you all and hope you are healthy and well. 2020 certainly has been a tumultuous ride, as we’ve been surfing the waves of loss, grief, and disappointment. All of us have been affected by the pandemic in some way or another. May we find some grace to discover or rediscover the essential agents for regeneration, renewal, recapitulation, and healing.

After many challenges (for both us us) over the summer, along with the collective weight of all that’s going on in the world right now, we took some time to venture out to some of our favorite and beloved sanctuaries for some much-needed respite. For us, as many of you know and can relate to, being out in nature, meditating, and pouring ourselves into our creative passions (art and music) has always been the healing elixir. Vincent van Gogh’s words remind us of this return back to ourselves, “…and then, I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?” What are we truly living for?

We recorded and released this video the day after Election Day in 2016. We too shed tears that day, knowing that so much of what we stand for would not be honored by the incoming administration. After the events of the past 4 years leading up to this past weekend have unfolded, we take solace in knowing that all is being stirred up to the surface so that we may be forced to see all that has been hidden in plane view. These are the times of great transformation and we must be willing to examine ourselves, our enculturation, our thoughts and actions, and be willing to venture deep within to heal and change the systems that we have created.
We recognize that our whiteness gives us privilege and that we will never truly understand the pains of POC. We aspire to be better allies to the marginalized and oppressed.
May this song be a healing balm for your soul as we remember that we are all here to lift each other up in love. We may have a long way to go, and a lot of work to do, but we believe that love will prevail! Full song on YouTube https://youtu.be/cYdTTCo9qhA

If there were ever an opportunity in our lifetime to rethink the paradox of our humanity -- choosing the most toxic means to fuel our lives and economy or look at healthier ways to thrive, both for ourselves and for all life on the planet – this would be the time. How do we go forward, how do we speak of this moment as we watch the ironic resurgence of spring while an invisible death has clogged hospitals and marked almost every institution in the world as momentarily dormant?

Woven Green, as eternal purveyors of art as a channel for the collective soul, has never failed to prove timely in their musical gifting. What’s striking about Turn Back Around, their newest single in three years is both the return to their exquisite rock roots combining the magnificence of Ashley’s vocals with the genius of Jim’s guitar and, maybe more importantly, the urgent, haunting call - no, more like a beseeching – to our higher selves.
The path that looks wide and easy to take,

The pandemic hasn’t just pushed the pause button on the frantic regulation of our daily routines but it also has opened a door of promise, a door of options. The stories in the media are becoming more frequent: Nature has taken a breath. Cruise ships are now unable to transit through the harbors and coastlines that demolish fragile coastal life, the factories in places like Wuhan, now shut down, have already shown an amazing gift of less pollution, lessening of a climate footprint. Residents in cities around the globe are reportedly amazed to hear birdsong for the first time outside their windows, sounds and sights they had never experienced before because of immeasurable smoke and noise that was “normal” up until now.

This is exactly what Turn is asking you to contemplate. There’s a bigger picture at work:
